Not quite what I have imagined to be doing on a Sunday evening this time last week, but here we go!
Following finding a lump in my neck a while ago and deciding to finally get it checked, two undetermined FNAs and hemithyroidectomy later, I got diagnosed with a follicular carcinoma (at the age of 32). I am scheduled to have the other side of my thyroid taken out in 4 weeks and RAI treatment afterwards. Not entirely sure how I feel about the whole thing - mostly OK but also frustrated, annoyed and scared. Despite the good outlook, it's still cancer, right? I have a 1 year old son and not looking forward to having to isolate from him after the RAI.
