U4 ultrasound

Hi, I'm currently one week into the two week wait for FNA after my ultrasound came back as u4. I have a 4cm nodule on my left lobe. I was told nothing during the scan other than confirming the size of the nodule, so was feeling pretty OK about it until the doctor phoned and dropped the possible C bomb.. (I know she is covering all bases)

This forum has been really helpful to me. I find that educating myself as much as possible makes the "what ifs" slightly less terrifying.

Anyway I thought I would introduce myself instead of silently lurking. I'm 34, mum of two. Discovered lump randomly one morning, then having looked at pictures from over the past few months realised my new friend has been steadily growing for a while now - still can't quite understand how I missed it for so long!

I have some difficulty at times with breathing. My ear aches quite a lot and I have felt beyond tired for a while now. All bloods came back normal.

Will keep this updated as I learn more. Thanks for reading!

    Hi Stephanie

I was just reading your post and noticed it was a month ago. How did you get on ? I’m just one step behind awaiting scan follow up which has been delayed due to COVID. I was very interested in reading you too had earache. I’m now struggling to get through my days and have started to be very dizzy. Did you have the same ? Hoping your ok.

  • Hi, sorry you're going through this. It feels like such a long road waiting for tests, waiting for results etc.

I had, and continue to have earache daily. No dizziness though. Have you had your ear checked for anything else? Dizziness and ear problems usually go hand in hand.

I had FNA which came back as Papillary Cancer. I'm booked in for TT in 4 weeks - it took almost 3 months from first phone appointment with GP to diagnosis, which feels like a lifetime when you're going through it.

    Good luck with your scan!

Thank you. I’m so sorry you had those results and wish you well. ENT doctor appointment on Tuesday for results of scan. Called the GP regarding dizziness and my ears were checked and clear. Had emergency bloods taken which I’m pretty sure will come back normal again.
Wishing you all the best with you TT. Let us know how you get on.

Hi I’m awaiting a diagnosis. I have a hoarse voice, breathing problems and I feel off balance. The room isn’t spinning, but it’s a horrible sensation.  I’m 3 months in after first speaking to my GP and stupidly I went private thinking things would be quick. It’s been the opposite and the waiting is torture.   I noticed your post was from a month ago, where are you up to now?
