Hello ,
Guess I am looking for words of reassurance. Hubby has had thyroidectomy and Rai (2018)
November 2019 oncologist requested challenge scan and stimulated Thyroglobulin. ( Not happy with thyroglobulin of 0.8)
Hubby got his results today.
Challenge scan showed uptake in the neck ( I know this just may be normal remnant thyroid tissue)
Unstimulated Thyroglobulin Same as September 0.8 Stimulated Thyroglobulin 4.8
Consultant going to discuss at MDT if hubby will need further surgery/RAI, may also order CT of neck as the ultrasound was clear.
I think these levels are low, I know he is being well looked after, has anyone else experienced similar results?
Hi
I haven't had a similar experience but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies. Responding to you will 'bump' your post back to the top of the discussions list where it stands more chance of being seen.
Hopefully, you don't have too long to wait for the results of the MDT meeting.

I would agree that the levels are still very low but I'm not up to date with the levels at which oncologists think action is needed. He seems to be getting great support and they won't put him through more intervention unless they consider it really necessary - especially with the hospitals as busy as they are at the moment.
Best wishes
Barbara
