hi, hope everyone’s okay!
i had my partial thyroidectomy just over two weeks ago. i have constant anxiety that there is something wrong. i’m constantly trying to see if my neck is swelling which sometimes it seems it is, it also feels hard to breathe a lot of the time. is this normal? i don’t know whether it’s the anxiety causing it or if this is normal following the operation. i feel embarrassed because of how worried i am about it and i seem to be annoying my family and friends. is there a way to know if there is an actual problem?
please help
I had my thyroid removed in two operations 12 months apart. Post operative swelling is to be expected and I remember feeling a hard lump across my operation scar which I worried would not go away. Relatively quickly it started to die down and now my scar is hardly visible unless you go looking for it. Your body has been through significant trauma and you need time to recover. I wish you all the best for your future.
