Hi All
Im sure there have been similar posts but I’m struggling to understand how long it normally takes for critical illness claims to pay out.
I have Medullary Thyroid Cancer diagnosed as T2 N1b so not sure if that will qualify. My doctors have sent back a medical report to the insurers this week but I don’t know what it contains.
I’m about to undergo radiotherapy so could be off work for several weeks.
Hi
I had papillary thyroid cancer diagnosed after a hemi. Mine was pT2 (24mm) confined to the thyroid with no vascular invasion.
I put a claim in with Legal & General in January and was paid out in full in May.
I think mine took longer than usual as my GP sent the wrong information. I found Legal & General to be really helpful and proactive whenever I called them so definitely chase your insurer up if you don't hear anything.
Thank you! I started the claim early November but I did chase them then as they hadn’t responded and it seemed they had overlooked my emails so then they said they would make it priority. I know my doctors report has now been received by them so hopefully I will hear if they are going to pay out soon!
