Hi I had an ultrasound on my neck lymph nodes 6 months ago just after my thyroidectomy and although everything looked ok there was on reactive lymph node which was a concern so they said they would re scan in 6 months time.
I had another ultrasound yesterday and was told by the radiologist that some lymph nodes have changed texture and the MDT will now need to discuss the findings and look at my tg blood test.
I had RAI in June. Anyone else been in a similar situation.
Hi, sorry to hear that, from what I understand lymph nodes can show 'unusual' or reactive but it doesn't always mean anything 'sinister' I hope on further investigation this is the case for you.
I had TT and left side dissection (removal of 30 lymph nodes) in December 2019 and then in June this year they found another lymph node that on biopsy was confirmed cancerous (I noticed a swollen lymph node, which didn't turn out to be affected). I've just had a second stronger dose of RAI (mid September) and waiting for my follow up appointments to see where things are.
It's really not an easy or straight forward journey for us with Thyroid cancer but wishing you all the best and sending positive vibes.
Thanks Pitch5. Trying to keep positive but deep down feeling scared and anxious.
I hope everything goes well for you.
Hope the RAI has worked for you. What dose did you have?
I had 100mci in June I have a follow up scan in January to see if it has worked.
