Hey guys,
Havent been on here for a while,
Wanted to ask if anybody has advice or experience of having babies after TT?
I had my 2 children before my op and now want to have more with a new partner. I am scared about it in away because I still have ups and downs with my health . Its been 6 years now and I still get lots of viruses sinusitis and tonsillitis. I think this is the first year I havent been as bad. As the years have gone on I seem to be getting a lot better. Still holding down a job and looking after the children. Get worn out still and have ups and downs with temperature and aches.
I have bloods being done before I see my consultant again in October but I have got baby brain now and want to start trying already. Even though I have sinusitis at the moment for the last 6 weeks. I am hoping after thats gone I will be up and good to go.
Thank you all for reading Sarah (",) xx
As an old male I cannot answer you directly but I do wish you all the best. Prior to my thyroidectomy I had problems with my sinuses and my ENT consultant put me on to a spray called Dymista which was more effective than the one issued by my GP. Not sure if it can be used whilst pregnant.
Hi Sarah
I had my baby about 6 years post treatment. I moved to Australia so things are slightly different. My levels are managed by an Endocrinologist. He raised my TSH to the lower end of normal when I was trying. He monitored my bloods every 3 months. We ended up doing IVF for male issues.
I had no issue falling pregnant with IVF and my bloods were stable throughout the process.
All the best on your journey
Yvonne
Thank you for telling me about your spray. The nurse has just given me one called Avamys which I am hoping will help more now. I will ask when I go back to the consultant about the one you have been given. I am pretty sure I was given this spray last year and it needed up making my nose bleed.
I will keep you posted thank you
Hello Yvonne,
Thank you.
Did you have your thyroxine changed during pregnancy?
At the moment I am on 100 and 125 every other day.
Excited to have more just worried when you read up on Google. Best to ask people who have already been through the same
Sarah
Google can be full of horror stories and the normal is forgotten about. Avoid where possible.
Yes my endo increases my dose when I got my positive and it was increased a few times during pregnancy. Back to normal after delivery.
