Swollen neck

Hi everyone

I’m two years on from a TT and radio iodine and feeling generally okay if a little bit tired. Over the last week I’ve noticed that my neck feels swollen at the front, bit like having a goitre but higher up. I think it’s always been a bit swollen and when I look at my passport photo which I had taken last year it’s definitely there but this week I’m more conscious of it, it’s also numb around where my scar is, Has anyone had anything similar?

Heya Fi,

If your neck is swollen, it could be stretching your scar and numbing it. If you can see a difference between a pic taken last year and now, I think that's a GP job I'm afraid.

Give them a call and see if you can get an appointment, not an emergency one. It's probably worth a professional having a feel and maybe getting an ultrasound just to have a check if the doc thinks it's worth it. Take the picture with you to the appointment too, so you can show them the difference.

Thanks Lass, I’ll try and get an appointment. My Thyroxine dose is wrong, TSH 0.06 but the GP won’t advise me and I can’t get in touch with my consultant, I’m wondering whether it could be something to do with that.
