Hello,
I have just been to see a specialist about a swelling in my lower left neck
He put some sort of probe down my nose towards my throat and said it all looked symmetrical
nonetheless he still ordered an ultrasound and based on that a biopsy for next Tuesday. I am terrified.
Hey there
Welcome to the forum, though I'm sorry you need to be here.
The good news is that over 90% of thyroid lumps turn out to be benign and absolutely nothing to worry about. I know it's easier said than done, but at this stage there's nothing to be terrified of. Even if it turns out to be a worst case scenario, it's still nothing to be terrified of, because thyroid cancer has a surival rate higher than 99%.
Best of luck with the tests and waiting for results. If you've any questions or just want to chat, then do shout and someone will be there to help.
Lass
xx
