Just need a bit or reassurance.
I have an my first appointment with my consultant tomorrow since RAI therapy. When I spoke to him on the phone he told me they would be able to tell if the treatment had worked through my bloods. I have almost convinced myself that it hasn’t. I still have swelling slightly on one side of my scar from my operation which has got worse. Logically I think it’s still the RAI working, as I only had it in August. Illogically I think that it is a lymph node.
Has anybody found out at their first appointment treatment hasn’t worked? I am not getting a scan just bloods tomorrow.
i am coping well until the beginning of this week and am now terrified about this appointment.
Sorty for the waffle but it helps.
Thanks
Thanks Lass
i am still waiting my blood results. I am sure my thyroxine needs adjusted. I am really tired, resting heart rate down to 48 and very itchy eyes. I had all these symptoms the last time.
He checked my scar and there are no lymph nodes, which if there was feel like sweetcorn! Apparently my surgery was quite complexed and they had to do a lot of digging around and it is just still healing internally. When I have a meeting with my surgeon in November I am going to ask him for more details about my surgery.
