Hi all

Just found out on top of everything else I’ve got osteoporosis, don’t know how bad, will find out on Wednesday. Been referred to ophthalmologist too as I’m having eye problems, they think are thyroid related. Not going to let it all get to me, but feeling a bit annoyed( polite version) heh hoh, could be worse.

take care all

  • Well pfffffffffffft to both of those things!

Guess you'll be on the giant calcium tablets then now? Just remember, at least 4 hours after your thyroxine.

I've had glasses since I was 5, but recently I've needed a new prescription every year. So my eyes are shot too. I hope yours can be sorted with nothing more than a sexy pair of glasses!

I think you've every right to be pissed off - not feeling polite tonight. Lol. Have at it, cause if it's not one thing it's another!

Take care and keep in touch with how it all goes!

  • Thanks Lass

    You make me smile Blush

I’ve been wearing varifocals for a number of years now, I’m afraid they’re rather boring ones tho, lol. Went to see the clinic that deals with eye muscles, they don’t know what my eyes are doing, it’s some sort of nystagmus, but doesn’t actually fit in with thyroid, but think the thyroid related eye disorders ophthalmologist might be able to help. That’s not till near the end of October.

Assuming I’ll be on calcium, but will probably take it in the evening, along with my Vitamin D.

I’ve dealt with thyroid cancer, this’ll not beat me, my body’s just not behaving just now. Looks like yours has been misbehaving too,  you’ve been having a pretty awful time. Sending a wee hug your way

    All the best

  • "Nystagmus is a vision condition in which the eyes make repetitive, uncontrolled movements. These movements often result in reduced vision and depth perception and can affect balance and coordination. These involuntary eye movements can occur from side to side, up and down, or in a circular pattern."

So, from that what I'm getting is your eye/s is/are doing a dance then making the rest of you dance too? Lol ;) And if ever there was a time to find some interesting glasses, it's now. Specsavers do a 2 4 1 on some things I think. Get a day pair and a going out dancing pair! Lol. Fingers crossed they can help, because titles don't mean a thing. Whether they can help or not is what matters!

Just thinking back to my Gran's tablets, pretty sure she was on calcium twice a day for her osteo. The tablets she had were the size of the centre of your palm and had to be dissolved and drunk. But see what you get, always exciting when you get a new pill to see what size, colour, and texture it will be! Lol

And exactly, this is def not going to get you. Bodies are just tricksy things! As for mine, it's been misbehaving for 7 years now. You'd think I'd be used to new issues popping up by now! Lol. *Sends hugs back*
