My op was cancelled a couple of weeks ago. It would have been Wednesday just gone. I had a partial thyroidectomy a few months ago. I was diagnosed as having Follicular cancer. Right side is cancerous too. So needs to be removed. I have to go to main theatre and stay in this time instead of going as a day surgery patient. I know it isn't anyone's fault and the NHS are so so busy, and it shows that the consultant isn't worried but I just want it over and done with.
Hi NedsNan,
totally understand your frustration and feel for you and yes, I guess it is reassuring to know that the consultants are not worried but that does not make it any easier on us patients. Have you been given a new date yet or any indication as to when it might happen? What I have learnt from dealing with the NHS is that you need to keep pushing and asking.
Hope you get the date soon.
All the best
Swichee
