Hi
I had a total thyroidectomy and central neck dissection 6 weeks ago. It was healing very well until this morning. The right hand side of the wound it swollen with a nagging pain and is red. There is no sign of infection. I did a stupid thing 2 days ago and lifted a really heavy pot and felt the pain in my neck.
Has anybody else experienced this and if you did what did you do?
Hi
I'm sorry to read that your wound is swollen with a nagging pain and is red in colour.
I'm not medically trained or a member of this group but I think it would be a good idea to get in touch with your CNS as soon as possible so that she can advise if anything needs to be done about it.
If you can't get in touch with her then speak to your GP today so that s/he can see you if necessary.
x
Thank you. My wound has returned to normal. I didn’t contact the doctors as it was a bank holiday.
I have learnt my lesson and won’t be lifting heavy pots again.
