I just wanted to post the pathology results from my hemi which I had in March 2019. I am so relieved that my nodule was 3cm and totally benign. As I have 'lost' half my thyroid I will still need to get it checked regularly to ensure its functioning ok and I have an appointment booked for 30th April. My consultant said that its probably worth getting it checked at least twice yearly and if I feel any symptoms of it not working correctly then go to my GP and if any problems give them a ring. I know its early days but so far so good and fingers crossed my remaining thyroid is behaving itself and doing its stuff. I thought I would post as although its not now cancer, the indications and test results were very suspicious and that is why a hemi was recommended. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on here who has given me support right from my first post in January when the nodule was found by a routine ultra scan. Its been so nice to be able to chat to people about my worries and get advice on next steps and what to look out for. For the record my results from 3 scans and FNA's were U4 and thy1.
Very pleased to hear that your results came back benign, that's brilliant!
Long may your half continue to work optimally!!
You know where we are if you ever need us in the future.
Enjoy!
