Hi.
I had a diagnostic partial thyroid removal on the 9th November 2025
i receivers my appointment letter today ( 27thNov)
my appointment isn’t for another 3 weeks, so I’m guessing if they know the results and can wait 3,weeks that they are fine??
I know you can’t say either way but surely a 3 week wait is positive news
Heya, I recently had a partial thyroid removal as well, and honestly the waiting was one of the hardest parts for me. From the ultrasound to the fine-needle biopsy to the surgery results—it all felt like such a long process.
I remember how strange it felt knowing that other people already had my results before I did. It’s so frustrating and anxiety-inducing.
If it’s good news, amazing. And if it isn’t what you hoped for, you’ll have a team around you and a plan ongoing forward. You won’t be facing it alone.x
Thank you so much for replying. I hope everything is ok with you?
I was the opposite at first. I saw Dr with the lump beginning of September and it was no more by the 9th November.
The speed made my head spin and I was told I definitely had cancer, then got an evening phone call to say his colleague might of misinterpreted my results and I might not have cancer after all.
I had already told family and friends, as you can imagine this alone messed with my head.
now a 3 week wait but as originally posted I’m taking this as a positive as I’m guessing if it was bad news they would get me in quicker
The tiredness, pain and low mood is really hard at the minute
Wow that's a whirlwind!! I don't know what to say!
My story started late July this year, I've had a partial removal and having a full thyroid removal next week.
When I'm struggling with mood ect I take one task at a time and just live in the now and try not to fully go to the uncertain future,.oh and going outside x.
I found talking to Macmillan on the phone very helpful and they signposted me to local help. They also have nurses to give information aswell, rather than the dark places of the internet if you know what I mean.
And these forums seem a very welcoming and open place to feel connection .
Be kind to yourself it's a lot at the moment and extra confusion of the maybe misinterpretation just sounds so intense!!
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
