Hi Blush

Could i have help please.... so I had scan of my thyroid gland  after that  I had biopsy, which the result came  today on mine nhs app.It says abnormal but it doesnt say cancer. Also why is says no further action? I am so stressed, please helpPray

  • Is it saying no further action for GP? NHS app is everything sent to GP but if it needs anything then hospital/consultant will follow up.

Why don't you ring your GP tomorrow and see what other notes have been added that you can't see.

    All the best x

  • Thank you for messageBlush.I have all

  • In my opinion and my experience you will be contacted asap regarding these findings, sample A is seeming likely to be inconclusive as it states not likely papillary carcinoma but has neoplasm possible? Sample B however they are showing more features of suspicious nodes but they aren't 100% as they state suspicious for, so both of these you will definitely be contacted and given further options and will most likely be presented into MDA meetings to discuss with a team best course for you to decide which you feel is best as it is your decision going forward.

I had a THy3a then I asked for another and got a THy3f which was more suspicious, not definite, I had just before been diagnosed with Graves disease also, so surgeon offered me half or full removal, I chose full and when they removed it was a Follicular variant of papillary thyroid cancer and I had a positive margin so I would probably have had to have all removed anyways.

I hope you receive a phonecall tomorrow sometimes to ease your mind, all the best, let us know x

  • Thank you for your messagePray

I had phone call today and I am going to see consultant this Fri.Are suspicious lumps always cancerous?

  • I'm glad you are getting to see consultant soon so hopefully you'll know more soon.

No actually some can come back as benign but structures they see look suspicious as correlates to what they see in cancerous nodes but unless they have a definitive diagnosis they say suspicious. Sometimes they can only tell when removal has been done and biopsy performed on the thyroid itself.

    All the best x

  • I understand .I appreciate your supportPray
