Hi
I’m new and I’m 43 who recently been for CT scan which found incidental find of 3.2cm lesion on my thymus gland. I had never heard of this before. I was refer to be discussed at MDT meeting and met respiratory consultant who advised I would be refer to thoracic surgeon who may potential send me for more specialised MRI scan and discuss me at their MDT. I then got phone call and to go on Thursday to see consultant and go to a pre assessment apt afterwards. Which raising anxious with me. I have been told if cancerous or not, but keep thinking the worse.
if I do need surgery, can anyone advise what the recovery time is at all? Everything has happened so quick and my head is all over the place. I keep trying to research about it but as so rare it’s hard.
appreciate any advice at all. Thanks in advance
Hi Sharon2105 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I haven't had this type of surgery, so can't answer your question, but noticed that you hadn't had a reply yet. However, maybe you don't need it now as I believe you were seeing the surgeon on Thursday to find out. How did the appointment go?
