Hi All,
New here and just wondering how long it takes roughly to get results after the surgery? I had the op on 19/10 and haven’t heard anything yet… The surgeon on the day of the op told me that the tumour markers and CT appeared to be clear, but not had much info other than that, and I am keen to know what chemo/surveillance I’ll need etc.
I did speak to a support worker today who said I should get a letter soon about my follow up appointment as I was discussed by the team who have been assessing my case last week, but when I called the hospital (different one to where I had op) they said they had no referrals or details for me so I’m a bit confused!
For info my ultrasound was on 23/09, CT 07/10 then op on 19/10.
Ultrasound details:
2 x 1 cm heterogenous, predominantly hypoechoic region within the interpole of the right testes with increased vascularity is demonstrated. Right epididymis is normal.
Thanks! :)
Hi Anon12349347a388 and welcome to the community. I'm not from this group so not much help, but I do know of the anxiety of waiting for results. I noticed your post has slipped through without a reply so by giving it a bump it will highlight it again for you and hopefully some of the group members with experience of this will be along to advise on timescales. Best wishes.
Thanks Rily, I have just now been given an appointment date of this Friday for my results. So to anyone wondering about timescales, that will be just under 3 weeks post op in my case. Cheers!
So my results were stage 1 pt2 90% seminoma 10% embryonal carcinoma, lymphovascular invasion present. I recovered well from then op then chose to have a round of adjuvant BEP chemo. The anxiety and waiting is really hard, my only advice is to keep as busy as you can up until the op then take as much time as possible to recover afterwards!
Thanks for the quick reply pal. All the best with your continued recovery. Hopefully mine will be a smooth sailing as possible.
No problem, all the best and any questions just ask
