hello,
just joining this group really for some support. I have recently had both testicles show a mass that appears to be of concern. the issue is, I have noticed a small lump on my left testicle since I was very young, as early as 12 years old. I never had any issues with the either testicle and never had any doctor check them for irregularities. it wasn't until I had to find a new doctor recently and had my first check up with him this past February. New doctor was concerned about the left testicle and I had an ultrasound showing a mass on both testicles, much to my surprise. The urologists tested my blood for tumor markings and the results were very normal and my cat scans show not spread of cancer at all in my body. still, there is concern on how to proceed, and it appears both testicles will be removed. I'm 38, living in the US, married and i have been actively healthy and never had any issues with my energy. I understand the risks , however, lately i have been more scared of living my life dependent on testosterones therapy and its side affects. its to the point I'm thinking of avoiding surgery. hoping to get some support regarding the testosterone treatments along with sharing my experience with anyone to maybe get more information or maybe relate to my current experience.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm very sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with testicular cancer and it's natural to be scared about the possible treatments.
I don't have any experiences of treatment to share with you but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. You might find this information on treatment for testicular cancer useful to have a look through. Bear in mind though that there may be a difference in treatment between the UK and US.
You could also type 'treatment' in the search facility in this group to see previous posts which mention it. If there are any recent ones that are relevant to you, you could reply to the poster with any questions you have.
If you don't get any replies from the other members of this group you could post your question in the ask a nurse section of the community and one of the specialist nurses will aim to reply within 2 working days.
When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Thanks ! Been in a more positive mood since. Procedure is tomorrow and got my trt ready and on hand if needed.
Ats, don't know why my full message never sent, but I have had both removed and had the exact same concerns as you. It is hard and takes some time to get your head around, but I feel pretty much theame overall. You do have to manage the trt a bit yourself which is difficult but speak to your oncologist and gp to ensure they are talking to each other and getting your levels right. I started on l that is applied daily which didn't feel right and am now on injection every 12 weeks which seems to have balanced my levels out a lot better. I am here to chat mate and you will be fine. I am 34 a similar to yourself relatively active and high energy and still am. Good luck tomorrow let me know how you get on.
God knows what these emojis are all over the place

Anesthesia kicked my but yesterday tho, was very nauseous but holding down food now. Overall my spirits are high and glad cancer did not spread however I will be surveillanced to ensure it was just localize on my testicles. Looking to maybe start try today but still resting and trying to walk around when I can
