Hi fellas, to those of you who have had a bilateral orchiectomy and now taking TRT, what sort of side effects can I expect?
Is it true that a man's body shape can change, weight gain etc?
Energy levels, mood, and how about sex drive?
Is it true that TFT can cause prostate cancer, and heart attacks/strokes?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Chip5
I'm sorry I can't help with any of your questions but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' the post back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily spotted.
If you don't get any replies you could post your questions in the ask a nurse section of the online community and one of the specialist nurses will aim to reply within 3 working days. Clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there if this is something that you'd like to do.
While you're waiting for replies it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi Chip5
i have only had one removed but this caused my Testosterone to fake to 9.7 (basically T Levels of an 80 yo), I gained a lot of weight can’t quite recall but I have posted about it previously (I’d say 20kg + over a 5 month period). Energy levels were on the floor, worse than being in a mood is having no mood which is where I was. Strangely my sex drive was not affected by it.
from what I understand from my private dr TRT doesn’t cause prostate cancer, however if you have prostate cancer it can accelerate it. With regards to heart attack stroke etc that’s probably more to do with the hematocrit levels, that’s why when on TRT bloods shoul be done regularly
Combination of things wasn’t training as much after diagnosis, T levels were through the floor all in all my body wasn’t working very effectively. Weight piled on, lost fitness if I’m honest I was probably eating less but everything thing was just going on my waistline.
yes I take testosterone via daily injection with a separate hcg injection to allow my remaining testicle to continue to produce. It’s no hassle taking the daily injections. Little more hassle when I’m going on holiday as I need a letter from my clinic
