I dont know where to start!

Welcome to our group! This is such a difficult time for you as you wait for the medical team to decide on your treatment. There are many people who live a good life without a stomach! I had a partial gastrectomy seven years ago and eat and drink much as before! It takes time to adjust but there is a lot of help and support from this group.  
I found the OPA was a good place to start

Hi, sorry to hear about your diagnosis…I also understand your emotions at the moment… it is like they a rollercoaster ride… I was new to cancer too in 2021. I had my stomach removed in April 2022 and I’ve had to adjust my food intake ( smaller portions) but apart from that it’s no different to what I was before. Your medical team will support you with everything… please ask me any questions any time.

I am still waiting for the expert pathologist to provide the final decision. 

The wait is horrible, everything seems to be a wait!!

Just to give you a bit more hope, my husband was 79 when he had his stomach removed he’s now 83 and apart from smaller meals he’s doing everything he did before we go on holidays abroad, life now seems as it was before apart from a few years older. I think the waiting is the worse part. Good luck with the results and hope you don’t have too long to wait xxx

Are you still undergoing treatment?

No my treatment ended after my last chemo in July 2022. I just have annual video calls with my consultant/surgeon. When I had my stomach was removed I had a lot of biopsies taken and they all came back negative so my treatment finished… it was scary to think my comfort blanket had gone but they are there if I ever need help. 

I am truly so glad you are well now. You have been thru so much. You deserve peace and security now xx

I am so pleased your husband has made such a wonderful recovery. It does give me hope and solace knowing I can still have a quality life. 

It is fear of not knowing that is taking control, I am up and down all the time! It is so draining.
