Hi all,
Im a 39 year old woman and have been diagnosed with cdh1 gene. Diffuse stomach cancer has been rife in my family and have been offered a preventative gastrectomy. I am favouring the operation due to the unreliable annual screening. Im reaching out to those who have been in my position and have had the procedure for advice and guidance. Thank you in advance ️
Hi Hoola
im not in that category to help you with advice.
However I was shocked when my stomach ulcer turned out to be cancer and stomach removal was suggested.
I went through with two ops and eighteen months on am living a good life practically back to normal. Just taking more care of myself than I used to … good luck with it if you decide to go ahead. It’s a bit scary but very doable.
Best Wishes hope someone else can help
