My 86yr mother has been diagnosed with stomach cancer. She has yet to have the MDT outcome but I think she will decline treatment, other than palliative.
She lives alone, and I wonder what the next months will look like regarding her ability to carry on going out. She thinks her decline will be sudden, but I suspect it will be a gradual decline as her body shuts down. I guess everything will spelt out for her clearly.
I am so sorry to hear about your mum’s diagnosis. It’s so hard as those we love get older, to know how best to support and help them. Once you have more information from the MDT, you will have a better understanding of what support will be available. Use this time to show how much you love and care for her.. it’s very precious! X
