Hi I’ve recently found out I may have stomach cancer showing all symptoms currently weigh 42 kg I’m worried and scared and have no one to talk to

  • Welcome to our group, there are lots of people here for you! They will share their experiences and give you hope!
You say you think that you have stomach cancer. Have you been referred for an endoscopy? The biopsies that follow will confirm the diagnosis. Just having symptoms doesn’t mean it’s stomach cancer as they can be caused by other conditions.

Dr Google is a nightmare though we all do it! Do share where you are on getting tests and lots of others will help. Not knowing is the hardest time, as you imagine the worst case scenario!

  • Hi yes I’m in next week for an endoscopy and biopsies and also seeing if I will need.a feeding tube put in as still losing weight my Dr referred me on Thursday so moving pretty quick with it all and I’m staying away from Google doesn’t help with anything

  • It’s good that things are moving forward but it will be an anxious time for you! I found the Headspace app helped me to manage the anxiety and I still use the mindfulness techniques now when I am stressed?
Once you know what you are dealing with it will get easier! X

  • One stage at a time.
Please don't feel you have no one to talk to, this site is good and I will try and keep an eye out for you.
speak to the specialist nurse to see what support there is.
    please take care x

  • Thank you I will I’ve tried keeping it to close friends and family that know what’s happening but don’t feel I can talk to them as they dont understand the worry I’m feeling and I will speak to the nurse at my appointment x

  • Hi. How are you doing?
Your family and friends may not 100% understand but would want to support you and not want you to feel alone.

I work in the NHS so knew certain things but not everything.

Hopefully the nurse can guide you to support groups. Where I live we have a well being centre near the oncology unit. It has been a great help to me.

    take care and hugs x
