Hi all this is my first post i am Steve 68yo male , but to be brief i have just been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma in my stomach which has also spread to my peritoneum .its now 2 months since i presented symptoms to my doctor who started the ball rolling but suspected a stomach ulcer which was correct . Unfortunately the scans etc also found this cancer. NOW thinking back i realise that i had had symptoms before i went to the doctors which i attributed to reflux and indigestion which i had had for years but thanks to the ulcer it has now been picked up. i have been told the surgery is not possible and it is incurable but treatable hopefully , however before treatment starts i have to have a stent fitted to open the pyloric as at the moment i can only manage to eat the thinnest of fluids . All this i have taken in yesterday July 3rd which was my 68th birthday so not the best birthday plus..however spent in hospital as well .however as yet i am being positive as i can , not just for me but for my family ..I don't know what the outcome will be so if anyone has gone though something similar to me i would interested to know what i could be facing ...many thanks ...Steve

I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It’s a lot to process and you must be on a state of shock.
There are a number of people in this group who have had a similar diagnosis and have been incurable but treatable.
Posts and the profile of SDH are really informative and helpful
Hopefully you will get the stent fitted and the treatment will ease your symptoms and shrink the tumour.
Others will be able to share their experiences to help you through this!
Good luck!
Jac
Hi, so sorry to hear of your diagnosis and especially on your birthday! I’ve not had the same as you, but there will people on here with the same diagnosis as you. Hopefully once the stent is fitted you’ll be able to eat better. Then your treatment can start to shrink the tumour…
Take care
Michele
Was meant to have stent fitted Wednesday nbm Tuesday...Wednesday come it didn't happen , oncologist gave me all the news Wednesday pm and said it would go ahead Friday , get told today it will now be the 10th July another week for the cancer to spread further....I don't care about me but my family ..
Aww that’s a shame… I do sympathise, it’s not nice waiting for appointments and then have them change… all you want is for it happen now… it will start to happen soon and then it will be all go. It’s awful for both you and the family… this waiting game sucks…take care.
