Hi there, my Dad was diagnosed 1 month ago with stomach. He’s had all the preliminary investigations, and today was told that surgery is not an option at this current point, given the size and location of the tumour, and the fact that there appear to be undefined cells “floating around” in his stomach, though at this stage it hasn’t latched on to another organ. Instead he has been referred for chemo. He has successfully fought off cancer before, I just pray that he is not one of the many who succumb on the second occasion. I live overseas so rely on what I’m being told being the true and full picture. Being in a community of people who know what I’m talking about is extremely important for me.

  • So sorry to hear about your dad’s diagnosis and it’s the second time for him… it must be so hard for you being so far from him atm… definitely being on here will hopefully help you as lots of people are probably in the same situation as yourself… I do hope you can find some comfort. Sending best wishes to you and your dad.
    Take care.

  • Hi

So sorry to hear about your Dad, I hope he's doing ok xx

It must be difficult being so far away...

My Dad has recently been diagnosed with stomach cancer and told it hadn't spread beyond the stomach but they cannot be sure parts of the tumour are not spreading around (not seen in other organs yet). I was wondering how your Dad was getting on and what treatment he had been offered?

We are still waiting for appointment with the oncologist and am hopeful there is still some hope.
