Hi my husband was told over phone on friday he has cancer in lower stomach after a biopsy
Hi sorry to hear this!! I was too told by phone in November, but I did say I was happy to do so. I’m actually in hospital recovering from my TG 6 days ago. It’s been a whirlwind experience so far. I have stage 4 signet ring in upper stomach, which thankfully hadn’t spread. I’ve had 4 x FLOT cycles before my op and will be due 4 x more after. I’ve a really good team here in Aberdeen with the oncologist and surgeon, which are both very good at explaining things. The nurses too atm are fantastic!!!
It will be shock for everyone! Remember it effects you too and there are plenty of support groups to speak to.
Sending yourselves a big hug before the rollercoaster ride starts.
Remember to write down questions for when you meet up with the specialists.
Hi
You will be in a state of shock at your husband’s diagnosis. This is the worst time as you don’t know what you are dealing with!
There will now lots of tests to get a clearer picture and then there’s a MDT meeting to decide the treatment plan.
The usual treatment is Chemo then surgery followed by chemo.
I am now three years post op and lead a normal life. You can read a Blog I wrote during my treatment.
If I can help please do post on this Forum or send me a PM.
Good luck!
Jac
