Hi all, new here, this is my first post!

I was diagnosed with inoperable gastric cancer and had a gastroenterostomy in mid-April. After a post op infection was treated, I felt much better and returned home.

But over the last few weeks, I have experienced terrible nausea and my stomach seems to fill with bile when empty, which makes me sick a few times a day. Mornings are the worst, as my stomach empties overnight.

Anti-sickness medications don't seem to do much. I want to live my life to the fullest but this is making it challenging!

I wondered, has anyone experienced anything similar, and have any advice for me?

Thank you Slight smile

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

Experiencing terrible nausea must be horrible and something, thankfully, I've not had to deal with.

I don't usually post in this group but I spotted that your post had not had any responses yet. This could be because no one else has had this experience or, more likely, that the person with the right experience hasn't seen it yet. By responding to you it will 'bump' your post back to the top of the page where it'll be more easily seen.

If you still don't get any response you could post your question in ask a nurse and one of the specialist nurses will aim to respond within 2 working days.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
