I had a gastric bypass 22 years ago and the cancer is in my pouch. That really complicates surgery because they have to do a complete revision then do a total removal of stomach. The time under anastesia is extended past the 5 hrs that is normal. So i know this suitation is very rare ans if anyone has knowledge of someone that has been through this.
I’m really sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I can imagine that the gastric band is an additional concern for you but I am sure the surgeons will take extra care.
Surgery is always a worry especially if you have had major surgery in the past. I worried when I had surgery for stomach cancer as I had an extended right hemicollectomy. But all went smoothly.
Hope you get a date for surgery soon. X
Jac
