Hi folks , I have posted before but I am now into my 2nd round of chemo and immunotherapy for stomach adenocarcinoma and peritonial nodules 4 days ago ...my weight has been stable for the last 3 weeks until now I checked myself tonight and found I had lost nearly 4 lbs (1.81kg) in 4 days..I am quite big still classed as obese with a bmi of 30+ I in may I was 27 ½ stone I am hoping it's just the chemo and change of eating habits ie lack of cakes pies takeaways beer ect that is causing this and not the cancer. It's just a bit worrying as this second round has really knocked me out. the last few days being I just want to sleep and don't feel active till the after noon and evening then to awake to sleep. Any thoughts please thanks

  • Hi, the second round of chemo really affected my sleep pattern, suffered from insomnia, still getting fatigue some 4 weeks after my last chemo, I have been told that it’s cancer related fatigue which can last some time after treatment has finished. As far as I know I am now cancer free but the side effects are still there. The fact that your diet has changed significantly is probably the reason for the weight loss, I stopped eating sugary foods and fizzy drinks and that made me lose weight, good luck xx

    1. Thanks , because of my stent I have been told to eat small meals 4-5 times a day , this meant I would pick nice sugary treats . I am a T2 diabetic but I was told I had other things to concentrate on ..I managed to get a sensor and found my BG was 27...not good as normally about 9 ...no more sugar in excess now ....dambed if I do dambed if I don't. Lol
