Hi folks , I have posted before but I am now into my 2nd round of chemo and immunotherapy for stomach adenocarcinoma and peritonial nodules 4 days ago ...my weight has been stable for the last 3 weeks until now I checked myself tonight and found I had lost nearly 4 lbs (1.81kg) in 4 days..I am quite big still classed as obese with a bmi of 30+ I in may I was 27 ½ stone I am hoping it's just the chemo and change of eating habits ie lack of cakes pies takeaways beer ect that is causing this and not the cancer. It's just a bit worrying as this second round has really knocked me out. the last few days being I just want to sleep and don't feel active till the after noon and evening then to awake to sleep. Any thoughts please thanks
Hi, the second round of chemo really affected my sleep pattern, suffered from insomnia, still getting fatigue some 4 weeks after my last chemo, I have been told that it’s cancer related fatigue which can last some time after treatment has finished. As far as I know I am now cancer free but the side effects are still there. The fact that your diet has changed significantly is probably the reason for the weight loss, I stopped eating sugary foods and fizzy drinks and that made me lose weight, good luck xx
