I just wanted to start a general discussion about what your symptoms were before diagnosis?
I’m really interested to see the difference in people!
for example- mine was only very mild reflux in late 2022, triggered by certain foods only and this only happened some of the time. I didn’t have to take a regular PPI. Then I started to take a weight loss drug end of Nov 2023, was taking that for 3 weeks and my heartburn became persistent. As soon as I stopped the drug, my symptoms went away again. I now have absolutely no symptoms.
Another symptom may have been a bit of fatigue and I was getting alot of viruses, however I am a nurse in a busy urgent treatment centre and I’ve been tired since 2014 after starting nursing haha! So not sure if that was a symptom really!
so my question is
what were your symptoms and when did it start?
Good morning, I was first diagnosed with metatastic gastric cancer in March this year, my pre symptoms were indigestion like discomfort, a lot of burping and weight loss, like yourself I was always tired but didn’t put that down to anything really tbh, just the norm for me, we to GP for check up and basically was prescribed indigestion tablets and gaviscon, went back after not working that’s when I was set for a scan ad the inevitable was discovered, too late to cure unfortunately, I hope your diagnosis is a better one

I have had reflux and indigestion for years with Lansoprazole .when I retired I put on a bit of weight and about 6 months ago I started get a bloated feeling and ache under my sternum and general fatigue , I put this down to not being at work , gotteing older reflux ect ...it wasn't till I got constipated with Al.ost black stools that I saw a doctor at the biggining of May (it could have been earlier if I could have got a face to face and not a computer) ..the doctor suspected a ulcer ordered scans and endoscopies and biopsies , they found peretonial nodes , and then they found a gist which was obstructing my pyloric...they also did find a ulcer..lol..I have since had a stent fitted which has alleged the sickness and bloating and I am now into my second day of chemo and immunotherapy
