Anyone got any advice on early dumping syndrome and how long does it last
Hi Nicnac, hope you’re feeling a bit more well recovered ️ early dumping I read can get worse if you’re eating a lot of sugary or milk/ dairy products or too much too quickly. I read that if you increase fibre content then that can help and the often repeated little and often mantra. I read it gets better with time, but when you see your surgeon for follow ups they’d be really helpful I think. If it’s happening a lot I’d talk to your nurse specialist about it too. It’s really hard though, as everyone says eat lots of dairy/ sugary shakes like fortisip to keep weight up but then you have to balance it with the dumping syndrome. I think it’s always worth letting the doctors know how you’re getting on, as they likely have a lot of patients with this and know how to help, probably the dietician too. My mum always rests after eating meals, for like an half an hour to anhour I think that helps. The link below also has some advice about it. Hope it gets better soon xx
