Hi there, I’ve got a question about the Jpeg feeding tube if anyone can help, My husbands not using it for food but has to flush it out twice a day, he’s wondering if once a day would be ok, is anyone just doing it the once or should he stick to twice. Also his scar from the total Gastrectomy was glued together ( no stitches) how long does he have to keep the dressing on it, he had the op 12 days ago and was home on the 7th day. He’s doing well. Thanks for reading xx
Hi sueCC
I'm sorry that I can't help with either of your questions but I noticed that you hadn't had any replies yet. You could post this in the ask a nurse section of the online community and one of the specialist nurses will get back to you within 3 working days. If this is something that you'd like to do, clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there.
Alternatively, does your husband have a CNS (cancer nurse specialist), sometimes referred to as a keyworker, as they should be able to answer these questions for him if no one from the group comes forward.
x
Thanks Latchbrook, I’ve found the answer to both , stick to the twice a day cleaning tube and yes take the dressing off, from his GI nurse . We have an appointment on Monday with the surgeon so hopefully find out stage and grade and hopefully the feeding tube can come out as never been used
