I ha very recently finished a course of capecitabine and currently waiting to start a infusion next week.

I have suddenly developed a bumpy itchy rash which is much worse at night.

Trying not to scratch it is a nightmare.

Has any one else had this and have you found anything to alleviate it.

  • Hi Jenny

I can't help with what to use for your rash, but you should have been given a contact number for the nurses at your chemo unit. If you give them a call, they should be able to recommend something and maybe even give you a prescription.

I hope you can get sorted soon.

    Hi Latchbook.

    Thank you for your reply.

Mine was worse at night. It drove me mad and kept me awake.

I was told to use Puriton and prescribed a moisturing cream containing a anti histamine.

It seems to have helped quite a lot.

    Good luck to you.

The oncology nurse told me to try Puriton.

My GP also prescribed the ointment.

    Thank you for your reply.

  • I hope that does the trick
