Stomach cancer

Good morning,

I recently had a partial gastrectomy following a chemo FLOT treatment that didn't work well, I am due to have the same more chemo and I wonder if it's worth going through it when the first one wasn't successful. Did anybody experience this and are there any alternatives to more chemo?

Thank you in advance for your replies.

  • Hi

I can't help with your questions but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily seen.

Do you have a CNS (cancer nurse specialist), sometimes also referred to as a key-worker, assigned to you as if so you could always have a chat through the benefits or not of having more chemo with them?

While you're waiting for replies it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and  treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Good afternoon Latchbrook,

Please accept my apologies for the late reply. Where do I find your username so I can have a look at your profile & use it as a guide to write mine. As you probably gathered my IT knowledge is limited.

I met with the oncologist this week and decided to go for the chemo FLOT. We will take stock after the first session and based on side effects I will experience we will decide what to do next.

    Good afternoon Vida,

Thank you for you for your helpful comments and as you rightly said let's say positive.
