Well no 3 of chemo, have had a tough time with the last 2 ,
Had anaphylactic shock with first one found out have metal allergy, clip removed from picc line as was really painful. 2nd chemo just made me throw up and feel so sick. Picc line just keeps bleeding all the time. Feeling really fed up. Picc line just behave yourself and please sickness just go away, have had every sickness tablet available and tried pineapple, so if anyone has any suggestion would be very grateful.

Hi Mad house
So sorry to hear how you have been suffering through chemo. Not sure what anti sickness meds you have tried but Domperidone worked well for me. I found that dairy made the nausea worse so cut most of that out of my diet and it helped.
I have a nickel allergy so my PICC was inserted without the clip. The positive to this is it is generally easier to remove once chemo is completed. Whilst mine didn’t bleed, I did have blistering around the dressing. The suggestion was that the alcohol used to clean the area during PICC care wasn’t allowed to fully dry before the dressing was applied, hence the blistering from reacting to the alcohol trapped on my skin. Next time you go for PICC care, let the nurse know how much it is bothering you and they may be able to help.
Hopefully you will get through the 4th chemo cycle and move on to surgery. The pre surgery chemo is much more important than the post op chemo.
I finished my post op chemo in April and am now back in work, albeit part time at the moment. I look back on those months of chemo and struggle sometimes to remember quite how poorly I felt. It will be worth the pain and nausea in the long run even though you are feeling so crappy now.
Thinking of you

Hi
Sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. I tried everything ant sickness medication and found Ondansetron worked best for me. They don’t routinely prescribe it as it is expensive as your Clinical Nurse Specialist. It does make you very constipated so get some Lactulose to ease that!
I found the nausea the worst and drank 2-3 litres of water a day, ate little and often. Rich Tea biscuits, polo mints helped me.
I also found having a bath in the morning very relaxing! Lying on the couch was all I could manage on my worst days!
I just tried to find ways to get through the day and the first week was the worst!
I found the chemo much harder than the surgery!
Keep going - you will get through it!
