New here. Just had surgery (10 days ago) to remove very large tumour from my left thigh. Surgery went well and I'm waiting for lab results of the tumour that was removed. Chest x-rays are normal.
Trying to remain positive that surgery was a success but my mind is now dragging me into dark places regarding what the future may hold and the fear that this may return. I know this is totally natural but wonder what advice the community may have in order that I can try and get a grip on my situation?
Thanks in advance.
Hi ,
Hi and welcome to the community though sorry to hear about what you have been through, glad you found us though because no matter how "natural" it may be fear of the unknown is still really difficult.
When my wife was first diagnosed she was very clear she did not want a prognosis and I really struggled with that. Still 2 lots of chemotherapy and six years further down the line I came to realise how right she was. One issue with sarcoma is being quite rare the statistics are not at all reliable.
If we look at the pages here on soft tissue sarcoma and the section "after treatment" again we see how normal your emotions are. Fingers crossed for a good result but whatever we will still be here and stand with you.
<<hugs>>
Steve
