Hi Jane...I can only say what I've been told...which is that during radio tumours can sometimes swell but there still may be cell death inside.. I was told that I cant have a scan until the end and was told that while the people giving radio will see the tumour via the machine for their purposes my consultant said she would only be contacted if they had any concerns...I know it's all such a worry as we cant see inside our bodies but I think feeling ok is a good sign....when do u get your next scan/ results? X
Hi Ann
Ah ok, thank you . Tbh nobody has really told me a lot, or what to expect. So have you had your radiotherapy results yet?
I did think the same, surely if it had been more of a worry , then they would have told me.
Still chasing my scan date at mo , but got my review 5th may
xx
Jane I would listen to the oncologist and not the radiotherapist. In my experience things never go as smoothly when being treated by 2 different hospitals. Are you having CT at QA? Or Southampton x
Ok thank you. I don’t like the radiotherapist very much, she’s very blunt and uncaring.
My CTs are at Southampton now.

I think that is better Jane, it can take a while to get scans from one hospital to another, and they don’t always use the same system so not as easy to read.
When did the radiotherapy finish? X
Yes I prefer having the scans at Southampton tbh.
mot finished 18th Feb

Hi I've only had my assessment and tatoos, not started yet...I'm in that three week waiting period...I always ask loads of questions at the start so I know what to expect and that's what they told me...I'm keen to know because I can feel my pelvic tumour and think I will feel if it shrinks...which is when they said it can have cell death initially...I wont have my scan till the end of the sessions and 25 to 30 planned x
Hi.
How big is yours, is yours a recurrence too?! I can’t physically feel mine, so I can’t tell if it’s shrunk or not, but I don’t get the same ‘rattling’ feeling I had before, so hoping that’s a good sign
x
Yes, I've been told that it's not reliable to evaluate growth when the scans are from different hospitals xxx
