Recently been diasgnosed with Angiosarcoma

Been pencilled in for surgery on the 24th August, however awaiting pet scan results as nodule showing on my lung.

Anyone been through anything similar petrified

  • Hi Annie1974 I am not surprised that you are frightened. A nodule on the lung can be anything, it may well be completely harmless, so try not to panic just yet. The fact they are calling it a nodule, sounds like it is tiny, so even if it is cancer, then it will be easily sorted I am sure.

The Pet scan will show what is going on, and hopefully will put your mind at ease.

Good luck for the surgery for the 24th x

Annie, I am so sorry to hear and hope your surgery went well.

Chellesimo, your words about nodule on the lung being able to be anything gave me a little hope. My mum was diagnosed with myxofibrosarcoma 3 years ago, with compete resection and radiotherapy. It has gone well, however at her 3 year CT scan they found a nodule on her lung (which was not there before). We are all terrified, though cling to hope that it is benign, but when looking at main causes of benign nodules, she has not had any of these. I read your story and realise you have been through so much ... and so just really was looking for hope in a terrifying time. Can benign nodules show up, even when lungs checked every year?

Most positive wishes to both of you and your families. x

  • Hi Oceans2020 I am sorry hear about your mum. Sorry I don't know anything about myxofibrosarcoma, but I always think if they are calling it a nodule, it has to be something small, so it should be easy to deal with if needs be.

I know this is a very worrying time for you and your mum. Have they told your mum what the next step is in trying to identify this nodule? xx

Hi Chelle, thank you for replying. I really appreciate it, cause it is a confusing and agonising time waiting to hear what the doctors decide on how to proceed. I
