I used Efudix on my face once a day for 4 weeks as directed. I used on 3 areas of skin on my face. During the treatment period my skin reacted in line with what was expected. However towards the end of the 4 weeks some other areas of skin  on my face became very red and inflamed. I am now 5 weeks since finishing treatment, the areas of treated and untreated skin on my face are very red, sore and at times throb. I am using an aquaphor cream and Vaseline and avoiding the sun.  They do begin to get paler and less sore but then after a few days of improvement they flare up again and I feel I am back to square one in my recovery. Two doctors at my surgery which includes the surgery ‘skin expert’ have never known anyone have this reaction. I have been prescribed a hydrocortisone cream to help but after 2 weeks of using this I feel it has had no effect. Has anyone else had this experience. With a holiday due soon I am obviously desperate for my skin to calm down. Thanks everyone.
