Toenail melanoma

I’ve recently noticed a black mark on my big toenail, had it checked out at my recent derm appointment and they are going to remove the nail to biopsy. Has anyone else been through this? 12 months out from getting the “all clear” from my melanoma from a mole. Worried and scared. X

  • Hello

I have just notice your post has gone unanswered. I can't give you an answer to your question myself as I am from the Prostate Cancer forum, however by me responding it will go back to the top of the forum and should be noticed by forum members, and I hope you receive an answer to your question.

I have been reading your journey and you have been through "the mill" quite a bit and I hope it turns out to be nothing. If it would help how about joining the Emotional support forum where you may find further support and indeed if you are still feeling worried and scared feel free to ring our helpline on 0808 808 00 00 where we have some wonderful people - they are available 7 days a week 8am to 8pm.

I hope this helps - if I can do anything else for you please don't hesitate to get back in touch.

Best wishes for the biopsy - Brian.

  • Hi Midnght22, saw your post and wondered how you were doing?

  • Hi I had the call this week to say it was a benign lesion. It was a bit tender at first and couldn’t really wear much but open toe sandals but healing nicely now. I have the odd twinge, they only removed around 1/3 of the mail from the left edge not the whole nail. Thanks for asking x

  • Thanks I’ve only just seen this xx
