Had op last week to remove a BCC and had two subsequent incisions across under eye 4 cm and down nose 3cm to allow skin to be lifted up over wound.
Struggled looking at my face for a few days and it left me feeling quite nautious. Stitches due out tomorrow just wanted to throw this out there as I’ve felt bit low over the last week.
Trying to feel positive looking like Frankenstein atm
️
Hi Babyyoda, so sorry you're feeling low, it's not surprising. I felt like Frankenstein after having my thyroid removed many years ago and had huge stitches and a raw scar across my neck. It's totally unnoticeable now of course.
It's traumatic on your face isn't it? I have a possible BCC above my lip and a likely SCC below my eye which may be like you had. Did you have the cream to try and deal with it first? I am curious to know if this didn't work as I'm in the same boat!
I really hope your scars are improving. Will you have the other side done to match? Seems only fair!
Best wishes
Oops just seen it's BCC you had under eye. I'm still interested in how it's progressed as I have a probable BCC but the one under my eye is possibly SCC but I don't know yet x
Bless you it sounds like you have had your fair share of scars too hope they’re all healing. Thyroid wow Hoping recovered well
No cream for BCC was suggested just surgery but hope anything that’s non invasive can help
Keeping everything crossed for your lip and eye it’s a tough time for you
Thanks. Thyroid was so long ago do that's ok.
It was SCC I was prescribed cream for so if it's cleared up I won't need surgery so but if I do it will be simiar to what you had. Do let us know how it heals.
Know how you feel I had bcc removed from near my nostril and ski flap 5 weeks ago. I feel so ugly and so very tearful at the moment just cry at anything and no intgerest in anything either. Scar is healing but skin flap looks very raised to me sticks out quite a bit but people say it is looking ok. Afraid I don't think so. See Consultant on Friday so will see what he say. I feel I don't want to walkj around looking like this if it is the final look. He did say a year to settle down completely. You will feel better when stitches are out I did but it is just the flap that looks sowllen. Good Luck. Keep in touch.
Three friends having cream treatment at moment and have had to discontinue as causing bad side effects. I thought I would be offered cream but just surgery or radiation. I chose surgery.
Bless you totally feeling the same want to just hide away. Areas look very raised atm but early days. Scar on my back took years to calm down I am worried about how it will heal but know anythings better than the alternative. Good luck with your consultant appointment too
Thank you and hope you feel better soon. Let us keep in touch with progress as I feel it helps talking to others in same position xx
Stitches due out tomorrow as had to wait due to swelling, went out for a walk today with my dog just cried as I felt very vulnerable having my face on show. Know it’s early days long way to go
