Possible second case of vulva squamous cell carcinoma

Hi everyone,

So glad I have found this forum, I had a large Scc removed 6 months ago, unfortunately I have recently had two biopsies for areas on my vulva that were suspect, and possible new lesions, although the two biopsies showed no evidence of invasive cancer, my nurse said it does not always mean there is no cancer there.

10 days later, I have developed some raised red spots on one of the biopsy sites, that is on the opening of my vagina and also about 1cm inside the opening. I am praying it is not another Scc growing. I had a lot of gel and local antiseptic applied to my vulva that day, Has any one had similar and can give me any advice or opinions? And if it is another Scc on the opening of the vagina what surgery has anyone had!

thanks

  • Hi

I'm sorry to read that you've recently had a large SCC removed and now have possible new lesions. This must be a very worrying time for you.

I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you join the vulva cancer group where you'll be able to talk to others who have this type of cancer. If you'd like to do this then clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there. You can then join and post int the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'

When you feel ready, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
