Hello from a 38 y/o female with diagnosed stage 2 skin cancer in a mole on my thigh. It’s only been a few months from diagnosis of the removed mole to my surgery on 19/11.
I had a wider excision of the original site of the mole and 3 lymph nodes were removed from my groin for biopsy following a lymphocintigram (Sp?)
So I’m only 4 days post op and was just hoping to discuss my recovery with anyone else who had the same?

Hi Holly and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with skin cancer.
Am I right in assuming that you've recently had a wide local excision (WLE) and sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) after being diagnosed with melanoma? If so I can empathise with you having had the same procedures on my arm and armpit respectively. My wounds felt uncomfortable for a few days but by the time I went to get my results a couple of weeks later everything was feeling a lot more comfortable.
I think that a SLNB in the groin area can take longer to heal so you might like to join us over in the melanoma group where you can chat to others who have had the same procedure in that area. If you'd like to do that clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there where you can join and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hello,
thank you for your lovely reply. I’ve amended my profile with more info about me and my journey so far and I’ll join the group you suggested. You are exactly right in the 2 procedures I had just in diffferent areas. Just hoping to heal soon and get my results
