32-year old Stage 2 melanoma patient (Anyone in 30s / 40s?)

Is there anyone around my age dealing with this?

I feel so isolated, and the people I have spoken to with this condition, while lovely, are nowhere near my age and don't really understand the challenges I'm facing at this stage in life.

I don't have kids or a partner, recently broke up with someone, living alone in a flat. No family. Impossible to find cancer support groups that have people facing anything similar. No mental health support from GP. Maggies cancer centre has been useless (ignoring emails, ignoring calls, I don't drive and don't live nearby).

(Happy to hear from people of all ages of course, I'd just kindly ask that you don't patronise me with something about being young, or describing stuff to do with your husband, your kids, your BCC (melanoma is very different), I appreciate that's your experience, but I've heard a lot of that, and it unfortunately doesn't resonate with me.)

Best wishes and hugs to all fighting this condition <3

  • No there was no connection, two completely separate cancers. Just unlucky I guess.

I've found so much support within the online community that I feel this is a good way to give back.
