I’m 59-year-old and have recently had a ruptured LAMN discovered unexpectedly after emergency surgery abroad. Tumour 15 × 5 × 3.5 cm. Histology showed low-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm with acellular mucin involving the visceral peritoneum. Margins clear. I have been referred to Basingstoke and am trying to understand whether I may need CRS/HIPEC or surveillance. Has anyone had a similar diagnosis and what happened in their case? The more I read, the more scared I become

Don't be scared as you have been referred to one of the two specialist hospital in the UK. I am a Christie patient and had CRS / HIPEC surgery in July 2022 after ,LAMN was identified after a hysterectomy.
If you join the UK FB private PMP supporters group there are many members who are Basingstoke patients who have lots of experience and can give you reassurance. Pseudomyxoma Survivor is the charity name.
