Hi all finished my 20 sessions of radiotherapy two and a half weeks ago. Had lot of problems with my bowels bleeding mucus etc.

I was given prednisone rectal foam. After 10 days on this as instructed things were looking up. early this morning I woke up with stomach pains and

acute diarrhoea. Does anyone know if this will get better as the weeks pass as its really getting me down .....

Hi, just a thought, it may just not be related to the radiotherapy and something else. Have you tried Immodium (Loperamide)?

My husband, who didn't have any radiotherapy, suffered really badly with explosive diarrhoea for months and after several visits to hospitals, and colonoscopies, he was diagnosed with microscopic colitis and put on Budesonide (a similar steroid to prednisone) and is taken orally. He started on a high dose but is now on a maintenance dose to keep things "at bay".

However, it may be due to radiotherapy, so if Immodium does not work, think a call to your gp or maybe an oncologist nurse.

Thank you Gina the Imodium seems to stop it. I think it may be the radiotherapy

i was ok till i had that,,
