Hi following last meeting with Oncology and confirmation PSA reading now 0.3 OH started on hormone therapy.   Tablets for 28 days with injection part way through and then every 3 months for 2 years - first one last Wednesday.   Attended Rosemere Centre at Preston for planning last Thursday first radiotherapy session 10th April and the every weekday for 6 weeks.   OH handling it all well so far and all the medical staff have been brilliant. Just hoping this will see off what the op missed .  If anyone else is referred to Rosemere we don't confirm that parking for anyone undergoing treatment is free.

  • Hello

Sorry to hear that you and your OH have to go through this but it's aimed at a cure. HT is hard on the mind and body - RT is just tiring. If you need anything - just shout out - I know I have been there got the t-shirt,

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Thank you Brian I am just relieved that he has decided to start the treatment

  • He has coped very well with prostatectomy, so I feel sure that he will do very well with radiotherapy.  They’re going for 30+ sessions so it sounds like full pelvis to catch all those local lymph nodes.  I think that he should be cured after this double treatment!  A year from now this will all be behind you.    AW

  • Hi thank you and I do hope so.  It has helped me having people to chat to who know what we are going through and csn give valuable advice and support
