Just joined the club that no one wants to be a member of..

So on Jan 14th 2025 I became a member of this ever increasing club.

I count myself as fortunate, I had my 1st Biopsy 14 year ago and was told all was ok; then in 2023 the markers started again. An MRI showed all clear, but the PSA count disputed this.

In Oct 2024 it was decided that another MRI was warranted (which indicated Likert3 event), and the rest as they say is history. After a further biopsy in Dec 2024 concluded a T2c N0Mx, with the Gleason score LH 3+4=7 & RH 3+3=6.

I have elected to go down the surgery route and currently waiting to find out if I will be accepted. I know it will be a bit of a battle, but remain positive.

  • Hi  , sounds like you are very much in control and have a good understanding of where you are.  Good luck with your treatment and just ask if there are any questions as you go forward.  David

  • Brian hi

Many thanks for the attached links. I had a good look at all the treatments available (some offered and others not..), And, to honest none were appealing. We all know that there is no magic bullet, with the surgery option being the less unappealing. Hopefully I got it right and have left myself with a viable fall back option, should it not work out.

    Best Regards

    Les

  • Good Morning Les (

I am pleased for you that you are happy with your choice. it's a hard thing to do and there is so much "mis-information" about. I never had the choice, 3 years HT/RT for me and to be honest it wasn't that bad!!

I hope the surgery goes well for you - please do keep us updated as to how it goes. We are all here for you with any questions - there's a wealth of knowledge out there with people who have gone before you. Feel free to ask any questions.

    Best wishes - Brian.
