hi all. Just had my phone call to inform me my mri scan is positive for postrate cancer and bone scan says its outside the postrate. my psa was 505 so I'm pretty much terrified. I'm being booked in next week for a biopsy. anyone had similar psa and what was the outcome. regards dale
Hi golfboy as Liz, johnam has said, little and often when eating works well, just make sure to drink enough, but after meals as a good drink can make you feel full. It's a good idea to have something to hand so when you feel like eating, the time/thought of preparing something doesn't put you off, and a few treats are perfectly fine.

Hi golfboy Dale,
How are you doing? You’ve got through the weekend, what day is your biopsy? Let us know how you are and if you need any help with any worries as there’s plenty of men available here with experience. This is an extremely stressful time for you and your wife so look after yourselves.
All the best Lorraine
hi all. I've got my biopsy on the 22nd jan and follow up appointment on 5th February. days seem to be going really slowly and every pain I feel is frightening. I' go to bed about 11pm and sleep pretty well till around 9am. during that time I don't feel the need to go to the toilet .is that normal. for someone with pc.
Hi golfboy, it's good to hear you have your appointments, and the days can drag, if you can, keep yourself occupied doing whatever it is you enjoy, and a little exercise is good for the body and mind, and your sleeping pattern is perfect, I would think almost every guy on here would like nights like yours, and best wishes with your biopsy, I had a TRUS, and many had the transperineal, so if you have any questions regarding yours, there will be someone to answer.
Eddie
Hello golfboy
Here's our guide to The Trans perineal Biopsy
I wish you well with this (like Eddie I had the old TRUS biopsy so can't tell you what it's like).
Best wishes - Brian.

hi all. little update. I've been having mild pain in the left and right side of my ribs ,so I was having a little feel/prod around when I heard a little click/crack. next day I woke up up with more severe pain especially when I cough or breathe heavy. is it that easy to break a rib .should I mention this when I go for my biopsy. cheers
Hello golfboy
None of us on the Community are medically trained, so any increase in pain or discomfort should be reported to your GP or 111. If it's getting bad then it's a trip to A & E. I don't think the biopsy team will be interested and will give you the same advice.
It is easy to break a rib - I did a pirouette over a suitcase in 2021, soft landing and crack - yes it hurt - and there's no treatment for it, you just don't want the broken rib interfering with any other organs.
Best wishes - Brian.
